Matt Gabriel

Founder & CEO

Matt Gabriel is a serial entrepreneur who has founded and led several high-growth, innovative companies. He currently serves as CEO and board member of XRI Fountain Quail, a company that he founded in 2013 to provide innovative water management and recycling solutions to the world’s most sophisticated energy companies. Mr. Gabriel spent an early part of his career as an attorney with Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago, specializing in complex corporate and private equity transactions. He then joined a venture capital firm based in Chicago where he funded and helped develop high-growth, healthcare-focused technology companies. Mr. Gabriel then shifted his focus from investor to creator, co-founding several high-growth technology-enabled companies in the defense and industrial sectors. Out of these start-ups, the idea for XRI Fountain Quail was conceived.

Mr. Gabriel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Rollins College and a Juris Doctorate from Vanderbilt University. He is active on the Board of Advisors of Vanderbilt University Law School and was a 2020 finalist for Entrepreneur Of The Year® from Ernst & Young.  He is a proud father of three and enjoys playing tennis, chess and hiking with his family.
